Photo exhibition on the move

THE photographic exhibition 'Because I am a Girl' which was to have been shown in Kilkenny Castle, has now been moved to Langton's Hotel in John Street.

The showing, which is being presented by Plan Ireland, consists of a broad selection of striking photographs including images from World Press Photo winner (2005) Finbarr O'Reilly, including the picture that gives its name to the exhibition.

The photographs reflect the central themes that make up Plan Ireland's work – health, education, livelihoods, habitat and relationship building through the lives of girls.

A Support Evening is being held in Harry's Bar at Langton's on tonight, Wednesday (February 3) at 7.30pm for about an hour. There will be some Kilkenny hurlers and members of the Plan Ireland team.
