ONE of Kilkenny’s most talented athletes plucked up Christmas courage at the weekend when he went to a party dressed as a turkey.

Tommy the Turkey!

Elves, a reindeer and Santa Claus graced the Watershed fancy dress party but it was Dustin’s first cousin, the turkey, aka runner Tommy Evans, that stole the show.

The party for children and adults marked the first anniversary of the opening of The Watershed.

One of the highlights was an U10 soccer blitz on the astro turf. Other party pleasers included a race against the turkey on the track and unlike most of his relatives, the Watershed turkey lived to fight another day.

Among the guests were Co Council chairman Michael O’Brien and Mayor Malcolm Noonan.
